The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools the largest regional accrediting agency in the United States, serving more than 1000 affiliated colleges and universities in a nineteen-state region. The Commission has just under 40 employees. HLC offers a rich benefits package, office closed week of Dec. 25- Jan 1; 10% employer contribution to a retirement annuity plan.

The Commission seeks a creative and dynamic Director of Education and Training and the Academy for Assessment of Student Learning. The Director oversees, develops, and facilitates the Academy for Assessment of Student Learning’s programs and services for nearly 130 institutions engaged in this four-year, intensive and innovative program. In addition, the Director collaborates to develop and facilitate education and training programs for institutions and peer reviewers. The position requires experience in developing and implementing efforts to assess and improve student learning within a higher education setting or with a higher education association, preferably across multiple institutions. The post also requires proficiency in developing and excellence in facilitating and presenting adult-learning style workshops, seminars, and other events, both F2F and online. The ability to manage processes and projects and to foster collaboration and engagement internally and externally, along with flexibility and adaptability to changing environment, are musts. Qualifications: Master’s minimum, doctorate preferred. Candidates must have significant experience in leading efforts to assess and improve student learning across an institution or multiple institutions. The successful candidate must possess excellent speaking and small and large-group facilitation abilities, solid process development and management skills, strong curricular development and delivery background, evident ability to work collaboratively with diverse types of institutions and individuals, and be willing to travel.

Beginning Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
